Attending/working weeks

Modified on Fri, 26 Jul, 2024 at 12:56 PM

The weeks in attendance is the number of weeks over the job plan that would be worked after annual leave, statutory bank holidays, training and/or any other type of leave has been removed.  For example, with the default setting of 42 attending weeks, an individual would not be able to work more than those occurrences.

Your organisation will specify the default number of weeks in attendance, and this is usually based on the staffing group such as Consultant/SAS/Speciality Doctor or a non-Medic group such as AHP’s, etc.

The Attending/working weeks is in each job plan in the Contract section and can be adjusted depending on an individual’s contract at the time.

How to adjust the weeks in attendance:

  • Remove the existing content of the attending/working weeks section.
  • Add the relevant value as per your contractual agreement.
  • Please check with your Administrator if you are unsure of this setting

Changing the Attending/working weeks ensures that scheduled and annualised activity doesn’t exceed the available occurrences.  Reflecting this correctly will also provide your organisation a better understanding of the available resources.

NOTE: On most occasions, the default setting would be the most appropriate.  However, there may be some differences depending on the staffing group or an individually agreed contractual difference such as Term Time Working. Staffing Groups such as AHP’s, Pharmacists or Nurses, etc. mainly have the default working weeks at 42.85 but this may also differ on an individual basis.
