How do I record a change in my contract type on L2P?

A change in your Contract type is an infrequent occurrence but may happen within the Consultant and Speciality and Associate Specialist doctors’ contracts most commonly when they move employers, and their contract changes to the latest version.

Doctors employed under the oldest versions of the Consultant and Speciality and Associate Specialist contracts are in the minority but if their contract is changed by a new or existing employer it is likely that they would move to the latest terms and conditions.

You can change your contract in 2 locations:

  1. Update this in your HR Info section:
  2. Change in the job plan relevant to when the new contract is effective.  This may be a contract change partway through the dates that the job plan is effective so it would be advisable to consult with your Administrator.   They will be able to confirm whether it is necessary to change the contract on the existing job plan, can be amended on the next job plan or if an entirely new job plan is required.

NOTE: All contracts provide the relevant PAs to your organisation as this is the standard measurement for Consultant and Speciality and Associate Specialist doctors. If you are changing your Speciality or Associate Specialist contract from 2008 to 2021 then it would be advisable to do this on a new job plan as this can affect the PA calculations.
